I’m writing this a few days later, but on January 2nd, 2026, the first trading day of the new year, I finally pulled the plug and bought some $BULL at $7.90 after researching it for about a week.
(This is a rough draft of my initial thoughts and will continue to be cleaned up in the coming weeks.)
Webull operates as a digital investment platform that enables retail investors to trade securities through its licensed broker-dealer across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, South Africa, the Netherlands, and other international markets. The company was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Essentially, it’s Robinhood’s much smaller little brother, and I think that’s okay.
$BULL stood out to me for a few reasons, so I figured I’d list them out here.
1. The stock was down roughly 33%, versus Robinhood, which was up about 195% over the last year.

2. They have a ton of cash. Webull has over $2 billion in cash with very little debt, which gives them flexibility to buy back stock, issue a special dividend, or reinvest that capital to continue growing.

3. Their enterprise value is roughly $2 billion below their current market cap. In other words, a company like $HOOD could theoretically come in and buy them out for around $2 billion.
4. Webull serves over 25 million registered users globally. These are users who have created an account. While not all of them necessarily have funded accounts, Webull still has access to 25 million users’ information. There’s meaningful upside if they can convert more of these users into funded accounts, or if a company like Robinhood sees this user base as attractive and decides to acquire or merge to convert them over.
5. People genuinely seem to love the platform. You have traders like Ricky Gutierrez, with millions of followers, who actively use it and speak highly of it.
6. I see a potential floor around $3–4 in an absolute worst-case scenario, based on the factors above and the amount of cash they have. I like being long from $7.90 and think there’s meaningful asymmetric upside from here. If the stock were to leak lower without the story changing materially, I’d actually like it even more.
Those are the reasons I decided to buy $BULL. This is a long-term trade idea for me.
