Yanni Nicolaides

From Passion to Profession

Yanni’s been hooked on markets since 2019. Like a lot of us, it started with curiosity—he was drawn to the pace, the culture, and the sheer scalability of trading. Once he found his groove, that was it. He’s been grinding ever since.

He credits some of the early names he followed—Lance B, Kristian Qullamaggie, SMB Capital, Dan Shapiro—for shaping how he thinks about setups and structure. But these days, he’s doing his own thing.

What He Trades

Yanni keeps a tight playbook:

  • Breakouts
  • Small caps
  • Swing setups
  • Options
  • Breaking news plays
  • Exhaustion gap fades

He’s not chasing everything. He’s deliberate. Whether it’s a swing into the close or a fade on a crowded gapper, he’s looking for trades that match his read and fit the bigger picture.

His Tech Stack

Here’s the core of his day-to-day setup:

A Typical Day

He’s at the desk by 7:30–8 AM EST. Morning prep is all about reading, watching levels, and talking through ideas with other traders in his pod.

  • 9–11 AM: Morning trading window
  • 12 PM: Gym and food
  • 1:30–4 PM: Back on to manage swings and check setups into the close
  • Post-market: Review, plan, reset

No fluff, just a pretty solid structure.

Outside of Trading

Yanni’s not just staring at screens. He’s into music—big on EDM and rock—and hits live shows regularly. He also travels, hikes, flies drones, plays sports, and still gets in a few video game sessions when time allows.

Money Mentality

He invests 90%+ of what he earns—most into trading and long-term holds. He just bought his first Airbnb and leans on a barbell approach: dividend ETFs like SCHD on one side, Bitcoin and growth names on the other.

“My goal is to build real wealth. Trading is the engine, but the end game is having systems in place so I don’t have to rely on it forever.”

That means stacking now so later, family and freedom are the focus—not charts.

Why We Featured Him

Yanni’s a great guy who genuinely loves the game—and it shows in how much he cares. He’s transparent about his process, shares openly, and tracks everything publicly on Kinfo. We actually met years ago while he was trading at SMB Capital in NYC, and even back then, it was clear how serious he was. He’s thoughtful, consistent, and someone who’s always trying to get better.
