A List of the Best Traders I’ve Come Across

A list of the best traders I have come across.
A list of the best traders I have come across.

This is a list of the most impressive traders on the street. Some I have gotten to know, while others I have just seen around and learned from.

(In this article, I try to link to the most relevant piece of content or social account that you would find the most value in)

Shark from SMB Capital – Even though Shark has made more money than most, he is still the most involved when it comes to trading. During Covid, I remember peeking over my shoulder and often seeing him in 20–40 names+, flipping through charts every half second and making huge decisions, adding, reducing, getting flat, as if it was no big deal, all while having a conversation with a developing trader, watching a soccer game in the corner of his screen, and playing a game of chess in another. He is on voice chat in the morning and throughout the day sharing ideas with the office, and he is the most involved. He often takes a lot of pain on big overextension trades, but he makes them count. People doubt him from time to time during big drawdowns, but he comes out on top.

Cavan from Fifth Lane Capital – The most analytical trader I have come across. Very good when it comes to M&A and imbalances. He was the top trader at Kershner and started his own fund, which has done well from my understanding. He is also all in on trading and is there from sun up to sundown.

Max from SMB Capital – A couple years younger than me, but the world’s best everything trader. He is great at overnight momentum, scalping limit ups and limit downs, an incredible overextension trader, good at trading imbalances and breaking news, and is better with options than anyone. He’s great at getting massive in unique opportunities and, when they don’t work, getting out almost unharmed. He doesn’t really have big drawdowns like he experienced once in 2022, and that’s because he is pretty good at laying off the gas unless something very opportunistic comes around.

Dan G from SMB Capital – The most systematic trader I know. He is really good at scalping around lower time frame overextension trades and being mechanical with entries and exits. He is also really good at trading imbalances. When you talk to him, you quickly realize he is just on a different level than most in terms of intelligence.

Jack Kellogg – A very good overextension trader, but an even better overnight momentum swing trader.

Raf from SMB Capital – A great momentum trader when it comes to turds, but he’s also really good at overextension trading on huge opportunities. He has built an incredible network of people sharing good ideas with him, and he does the same.

Kyle Williams – A great small cap short seller who has also made money being long crypto. I think he runs into some problems when he becomes too hold minded, almost like a portfolio style trader. Again, great at overextension trades.

Steven Dux – Trades very little, but when he goes for it, he crushes it. Usually in the small cap short world, but he’s also a really good overextension trader.

These are the very best traders I have come across. Many of them are excellent at catching big overextension trades and capturing overnight momentum on stocks closing strong. A few are also strong with opening and closing imbalances and special situations.

The lowest hanging fruit is learning to capture the best overextension trades that anyone can see from a mile away, and the very best overnight momentum trades, stocks closing strong.

Best,
Kyle
